The road (also known as Cliff Road) is located in a picturesque corner of Somerset, along Cheddar Gorge, the largest gorge in the United Kingdom. Carved out by glacial meltwater during the last Ice Age, the limestone cliffs of Cheddar Gorge form England’s deepest natural canyon. At almost 400 feet deep and 3 miles long, this is England’s largest gorge, in places towering 138m above the twisting B3135.

Nestled in the Somerset countryside, just South of Bristol, Cheddar Gorge is an absolute must for any biker. It’s a stunning snaking route carved through the cliffs between Oakhill and Chedder, roughly 14miles.

You’re enveloped by beautiful cliffs on either side of a wonderfully winding road. There are plenty of places to pull up and have a mooch about and take in the stunning scenery. Top tip: watch out for the goats that not only like to scale the cliffs but also lurk around blind corners so just take it steady in case you happen to meet them in the middle of the road.

No matter what level of biker you are, Cheddar Gorge just has to be added to your Biker Bucketlist.
