British biker couple Lindsay and Craig Foreman rode into Iran during their round-the-world motorcycle trip, but now they face 10 years behind bars in Tehran’s infamous Evin prison.

Lindsay and Craig Foreman, a British couple traveling the world on motorcycles, have been sentenced to 10 years in prison in Iran after being accused of espionage—a charge their family says is completely unfounded.

The Foremans, a couple from Sussex in their 50s, were arrested in January 2025 while traveling through Iran on a round-the-world bike trip. This week, a judge at Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court handed them a ten-year prison sentence. They are being held separately in Tehran’s infamous Evin prison, long criticized by human rights groups for alleged torture and harsh conditions.

The Foremans’ troubles started in early 2025 when they entered Iran during their global motorcycle trip. Soon after, Iranian authorities detained them on spying charges—an accusation they and their family strongly deny.

In 2025, the pair were kept in Evin prison under what their family called “dire” conditions. Lindsay’s son, Joe Bennett, said they were surrounded by dirt, vermin, and violence, and were losing weight.

In October 2025, the Foremans attended a three-hour court hearing in Tehran, where the family claimed they weren’t allowed to present a defense. It wasn’t until early 2026 that a judge from Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court handed down the verdict—10 years each for espionage. Their son said no evidence of spying was ever shown.
