Perched high in the northern part of the country, it’s the most direct route between Innsbruck and Bolzano, with a spacious parking lot and a restaurant waiting at the summit.
The road is quite a challenge, with countless curves and a few sharp hairpin bends. With a steepest grade of 20.7%, it’s not for the faint of heart. Even after multiple widenings in recent years, the pass remains fairly narrow.
