Being a Suzuki man, there was only one brand of bike to do the longest day challenge (LDC) on.
That said, Suzuki make some amazing bikes, so which one? A Gixxer, a bandit, a SV? Any of them would work, the rules state 250cc and above and a value of less than £600.00.
I had two options facing me, I had a 1991 GSF400 bandit (which was bought as a box of bits) and a 2003 GS500f (which was bought as a rough project), both would be inappropriate for a rider over six foot tall. Initially my thoughts were to run with the bandit, however over time I realised that the work required would take more time than I have with a new born and trying to keep my career on a decant path. So that means that the bandit could be ready for the 2027 LDC.

So let the challenge commence.
Nige has teamed up with 12 volt planet, Atom batteries, All Oils, Beeline navigation, Dr Wack, Goodridge, HiFlo filtro, Lomo, Lone Rider, MandP, MSG bike gear, Pinlock, Rippl impact gear, RS Motorworx, SMD automotive and Ultimate Addons to complete this challenge. Without the help of these companies this wouldn’t have been possible.
Nige would also like to extend his gratitude to Ant and Dan for their help and Emma for supporting him whilst he is spending time in the garage.
