A day of electrical gremlin fixing, all the electrics are now doing as they should (or so we think), the headlight bracket is still not even a design, I don’t know if I am just getting side tracked or if it is just there is that much that actually needs working on with this bike! Whilst chasing the wiring loom, we came across a very badly attacked bolt, so without hesitation it was removed and replaced with a new one, but whilst sorting the bolt I noticed other bits that needed to be sorted, so before we knew it, the back end of the bike was removed and parts in the blasting cabinet. So, there is a new plan – do one part at a time (as an example – the rear of the bike is in bits, these parts need sand blasting and powder coating so do these and fit them back on the bike before working on somewhere else but write down any other pressing jobs that are noticed – for exampled the chain guard bolts look rusty).

The list of what needs addressing currently is (no doubt this list will extend as were working on the bike):

  • Body work; basic repairs, painting and stickering.
  • Frame; any parts that can be removed will be taken off and sand blasted and powder coated.
  • Wheels & Tyres; wheels need cleaning and paint, tyres need replacing (tyres are not within the £600 budget, but in the spirit of the challenge I will be replacing with new budget tyres).
  • Brakes; new brake lines, refresh callipers, new pads.
  • Engine; full service.
  • Drive train; new clutch cable, clean and adjust chain.

Slow progress, but progress none the less.
