
Burkina Faso is a landlocked country in West Africa, bordered by Mali to the northwest, Niger to the northeast, Benin to the southeast, Togo and Ghana to the south, and Ivory Coast to the southwest. It covers an area of 105,878 sq mi (274,223 km2).
Please note, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) currently advises British nationals against most travel to Burkina Faso.
FCDO advises against all travel to Burkina Faso, except to the capital, Ouagadougou.
FCDO advises against all but essential travel to Ouagadougou, up to the toll booths on all roads out of the city.
This is due to the threat of terrorist attacks and terrorist kidnap, and the unstable political situation in the country.
