When out riding your bike, a multitude of problems can arise, but how would a passer by or the emergency services know anything about you if you were unconscious?

From my experience as a paramedic, being able to gain basic information and next of kin details can be hard after a road traffic accident (be that a broken phone or an unconscious rider). Basic details like your name, any allergies or medical history of note are very important in a life and death situation.

A yearly subscription of £1.50 to keep your details on file is nothing for the comfort of knowing that if the worst was to happen, the emergency services know who to contact.

iceQR® helmet stickers are water and scratch proof using Polyolefin that is ideally suited to applications where label durability is required.

These stickers are large enough to be seen, but small enough not to irritate you when there on your helmet (rough size 6x2cm).

There are many different ID tags and helmet stickers on the market, but after a lot of research, these are the best quality and value for money I have found.

These are BS 5609 tested for durability. Another thing to note with these stickers, they are water based and should not interfere with the construction of the helmet.

Surviving long term outdoor exposure and resisting water, various chemicals & most household detergents to ensure QR code identification is maintained. Polyolefin is a 175 micron matt white synthetic material, laminated to an 87 gram white glassine liner.

For a permanent fixing they use a modified acrylic aqueous dispersion marine adhesive to BS 5609 . This adhesive exhibits good resistance to light, heat and ageing.

BS 5609 testing is a requirement for self adhesive drum labels needing International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) certification. Testing includes a 3 month exposure of labelled test plates in salt water at mid-tide. BS 5609 is an internationally recognised standard covering the suitability for the labelling of goods for marine shipment. However, in a more general way, it is widely referred to when specifying an extremely durable label.
