Berwick-Upon-Tweed petrol station (TD15 1QQ) to Wick Tesco (KW1 4QS).

Statistics:

  • 319 miles
  • 481 total miles
  • estimated riding time 6 hours
  • estimated running time 8 hours & 50 minutes*

Counties:

On the longest leg of the route, a fuel stop will be required approximately halfway. With available facilities located in Kingussie and Aviemore, the situation will be evaluated upon reaching that stage to determine the most suitable option considering fuel and also my belly (this stop will be a food stop also).

A ride up the A1 until it finishes, through Edinburgh and up the M90 to Perth, from then on its one of my favourite places to ride, the A9 through the Cairngorms National Park and one of my all time favourite places (Pitlochry) up to Inverness, then jump on part of the NC500 route to the A99 at Latheron all the way to Wick, at this point, I will be less than 17 miles from John O Groats. The petrol station is the checkpoint and I need to fuel and collect a receipt before continuing the challenge and all being well I should arrive at Wick for around lunch time!
