Recent work completed – mainly stripping off more and more parts of the bike! And in typical fashion, at least half of the fixings are rusted stuck, but attached to plastic so unable to use heat to ‘assist’, a perfect example is the rear ‘mud guard’ or undertray, it only has three fixings holding it on, the two on the rear were ground off, the one on the front had to be drilled out.
Whilst the bike was being partially stripped, it was time for a bit of cleaning on the frame (in an ideal world the frame would have been fully stripped, sand blasted and powder coated but we don’t have the time for that at the moment with everything else that is going on with life if we actually want to ride the 2025 challenge), so a quick wire brush and paint was applied (well I brushed and Dan painted), some of the smaller parts were sand blasted and powder coated (see Ant’s part 7 teaser) initially I wanted to keep some of the parts chrome, but they were too far past chrome, so I ended up powder coating them to make them look better. As I state in Ant’s part 7 teaser, anything from or worked on in the G-Style speed shop comes out with something pink on it, in my case the battery box.
There is still loads to do, but the rebuild has started now. I did consider writing a ‘what’s left to do’ list, but then thought that was just procrastination.

Finally, some work on the bike!
Nige has teamed up with 12 volt planet, Atom batteries, All Oils, Beeline navigation, Dr Wack, Goodridge, HiFlo filtro, Lomo, Lone Rider, MandP, MSG bike gear, Pinlock, Rippl impact gear, RS Motorworx, SMD automotive and Ultimate Addons to complete this challenge. Without the help of these companies this wouldn’t have been possible.
Nige would also like to extend his gratitude to Ant and Dan for their help and Emma for supporting him whilst he is spending time in the garage.
