Today started well, I got the Beeline fitted to the handlebar (which actually meant removing the bar due to lack of space), fitting the tracker (that one was relatively easy) and then a oil flush and change.

This is where it all went wrong.

Last week I had the bike idling no problem for at least ten minutes, however today, well it just didn’t want to. It fired with half choke and ran at roughly 1500RPM, put the choke away, the engine started to run like fuel starvation, so I carried on but nothing I tried worked. Eventually it would idle at 6000RPM then cut out, not even a pop or a bang, cranking fine but no life. Fuel (to the carb), check. Spark, check. Compression, check. Fuel, new. I am at a loss!

I am running out of time today, I procrastinated by putting the Beeline stickers on the bike, mixing and laying concrete on the new outside steps whilst trying to figure out what else could be wrong.

Anyhow, £42 later and a new set of coils and spark plugs are ordered and hopefully on their way, if these don’t work, I will have to call in favours from anyone and everyone I know to get this damn bike running and ready for the challenge.

I don’t want to forfeit and take a different bike!

Nige would also like to extend his gratitude to Ant and Dan for their help and Emma for supporting him whilst he is spending time in the garage.
