Let there be light!
I am naming this modification the ‘PLL’, which stands for the Paul Lee Light.
The background to this, on the Longest Day Challenge 2025, there were a handful of us who convoyed together through Scotland together. When we hit Glencoe at approximately 23:00 it was dark! We stopped at a petrol station to decide who should lead the way, but this time we weren’t so focused on the route itself – more on the lighting and seeing ahead. Paul had mounted a light bar on the front of his Fazer, expecting it to be useless, but it turned out to be incredible. From now on, any LED light bar fitted to the front of a bike will be known, at least to me, as the PLL mod. I would also like to note that Paul inadvertently led some of us off course earlier in the day around Cumbria (so he wasn’t leading for his navigational skills), however, with the assistance of the Beeline, I was able to resolve the situation and guide us back on track through the Kirkstone Pass.
After conducting some research on LED light bars, I ultimately followed Paul’s approach and purchased the most inexpensive option available. The price was so low that the wiring and switch ended up costing more than the light bar itself!
Nige would like to thank everyone involved in this challenge.
