Meet Ultraviolette, a rising electric motorcycle company based in Bangalore that has expanded at lightning speed, growing from just eight employees and a single showroom to a workforce of 500 and a footprint in 30 cities across India in only two years.
The brand made its official UK debut at last month’s Motorcycle Live (MCL) show at Birmingham’s NEC and has already partnered with the well-established dealership group, Krazy Horse, to start selling their upcoming models.

Ambitious plans are underway to recruit between 20 and 25 dealerships ahead of the warmer biking season next March, coinciding with the arrival of several new models in the coming year. These include the £8,499 F77 naked roadster and the recently unveiled X-47 adventure crossover, both designed and manufactured in Bangalore. Additionally, the company has launched the Tesseract mid-size scooter, which has reportedly garnered over 75,000 orders worldwide, and showcased at MCL the 125cc-equivalent Shockwave urban off-roader, featuring a compact front rally screen, which has already attracted an estimated 9,000 orders in its domestic market.
“The first few shipments to France and Germany have already sold out,” said Vice President Reuben George. “We’re not trying to dominate the market in one year; it’s all about slow and steady progress. Until August last year, we had just one store in India. Now, we’re in 30 cities. By the end of this year, we’ll reach 40, and by the end of next year, we’ll be in 100 cities. We’re certain about that—and it’s not just the big cities. The Tesseract even has bookings from places like the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, so we’ve figured out how to sell there too.”
The F77 Mach 2 edition delivers a peak power of 40.2bhp, with a steady 12.7bhp at 3000rpm. This means that, despite its impressive bursts of performance, it’s still technically A1 licence compliant, all while boasting a top speed of 89.5mph. The X47, on the other hand, offers a choice between a 7kWh or 10kWh battery pack, along with cool extras like rear radar integration, an inbuilt dashcam, and more.
They are supported by distributors MotoMondo, who manage a range of brands entering the UK market, including Mash and Rieju, as well as several others across Europe, such as Royal Enfield. Until recently, they also maintained a partnership with the Chinese-built Italian brand Moto Morini, a collaboration that is set to conclude on December 31 of this year.
MotoMondo Managing Director, Jan Ykema, announced that the X47 will enter the market between March and April, marking the period when the company aims to be fully prepared and operational. He emphasized that production volume is the key differentiator; achieving large-scale production will significantly reduce development costs. Lower development costs, in turn, will make the bike’s price far more attractive. Ykema further noted that models such as the Tesseract and the Shockwave will see substantial price reductions. He highlighted that strong sales in India will provide the opportunity to manufacture in higher volumes, thereby further driving down costs.
